Twin Oaks Landfill
The Twin Oaks Landfill resides on a 610-acre property in Grimes County, Texas. When the landfill footprint is fully developed it will include 214 acres of lined landfill footprint providing the Brazos Valley region with 37,000,000 cubic yards of municipal solid waste disposal capacity.
The Twin Oaks Landfill is unique in being the first landfill in the United States to be awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.
In addition to the LEED certification, Twin Oaks Landfill expands on its commitment to the environment and to the local community with the preservation of more than 160 acres of property that serves as a natural habitat for the endangered Navasota ladies´- tresses orchid.
The Twin Oaks Landfill has already attracted environmental professionals from around the country who came to tour this one-of-a-kind facility. Many more are sure to follow as the facility provides for the region´s solid waste disposal needs for the next several decades.
